Gender equality

For the fourth time, together with the Green European Foundation, we are looking at strengthening gender equality, the role of women and girls in society. However, it is rather a professional approach to our mission, rather than an everyday public policy or political way of thinking.

The Ecopolis Foundation launched a series of studies on the implementation of the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Hungary. For the fourth time, together with the Green European Foundation, we are looking at strengthening gender equality, the role of women and girls in society. However, it is rather a professional approach to our mission, rather than an everyday public policy or political way of thinking.

5th goal: Gender equality, strengthening the social role of all women and girls

The following aspects will be discussed in more detail in the event:

  • Eliminating all forms of discrimination against women and girls everywhere.
  • Recognition and assessment of unpaid care and domestic work through the provision of public services and infrastructure, through social protection policies and by promoting shared responsibility within the household and the family, in line with national specificities.
  • Ensure full and effective participation and equal opportunities for women at all levels of decision-making in political, economic and public life.
  • Adopt and reinforce policies and enforceable legislation to promote gender equality and strengthen the social role of all women and girls at all levels.
