The reduction of the workers' rights is not the appropriate answer for the crisis

The reduction of the workers' rights is not the appropriate answer for the crisis

Hungarian Press Agencies report on the Conferenece on Workers' Rights and Ecopotics in the 21st Century (MTI)

Elisabeth Schroedter MEP (Greens/EFA) 22nd September 2011 in Budapest, at the conference on “Ecopolitics and workers' rights in the XXI. Century” said that the answer for economical crisis cannot be that the reduction of workers' rights, because without helathy and happy workers the transition could not be maintained.

Ecopolitics in Local Governments - The first public programme of the Ökopolisz Alapítvány

About sixty local representatives and their advisors took part at the first public training series of the Ökopolisz Alapítvány titled Ecopolitics in Local Governments. The events were organized in Budapest, Pécs and Kecskemét during April-May 2011.

As a first-time experiment in Hungary, the main aim of the training was to deepen participants’ knowledge about ecopolitics and the system of local self-governments. Furthermore, a practical communication training was also part of the weekends. We expect that these skills can improve the representation of ecopolitical ideas in local communities. Among others, the speakers of the trainigs were Benedek Jávor, head of the Sustainable Development Committee in the Hungarian Parliament, József Kökényesi, professor of the Corvinus University, and Péter Rauschenberger, former president of the Ecopolitics Foundation.
